Can I get a witness?

Our manager, Mindy, made such an impression on a young couple who stayed with us at Seawall Motel that when they realized they needed a second witness for the Saturday July, 27 wedding they gave her a call. The young travelers checked out early Friday morning to scope out where they would hold their wedding ceremony.  Alan and Colleen (Spencer) were married on Otter Cliffs off the Park Look Road. It was a beautifully romantic, private ceremony. Best of luck to our Newly Weds!!!

Mosquitos In Maine and Around Seawall Motel

Mosquitos Around Acadia It is the middle of July and already we are hearing guests complain about the abundance of mosquitoes in the evenings while they go for a leisurely walk, or sit at the picnic area just beyond the Seawall. We are fortunate enough to have an open space here at the Seawall Motel that the pesky insects tend to hate- We rarely have a problem at the motel!!! All mosquitos breed in standing water, and some live in fresh water swamps, ponds, salt marshes, and grassy ditches. They most likely tend to be out and on the hunt for a host during early morning, dusk, and/or on overcast days. After doing some online research I have learned that DEET is the most reliable bug spray; however this turns many people off because it is a manmade chemical. The...

Full Moon Rising at Seawall Picnic Area

Full Moon Rising at Acadia National Park’s Seawall Picnic Area Dave and Vickie were able to join friends on Tuesday July 3, 2012 to watch the moon rise over the ocean from The Seawall Picnic Area. The location is just seconds from Seawall Motel. The moon was so bright flashlights were not even necessary. Campers from the nearby campground had a warm fire blazing and kept good company.
